I don’t prepare many raw meals, but I do know many folks who have been interested or have tried a raw food diet. Before you unplug your stove and throw out your microwave, read these tips to plan ahead.
Talk to your doctor.
Before you begin your raw food journey, speak with your physician and find out how a raw diet may affect your body and any pre-existing conditions you may have. Also, ask about supplements that are beneficial for raw food diets.
Research, research, research.
Do your research on delicious raw meals. Pick up a cook book, ask your social network for ideas and follow social media accounts based on raw meals, find raw restaurants in your area, search raw recipes on Pinterest.
Also, weigh out the pros and cons of a raw food diet.
Plan your meals ahead of time.
If you are usually on-the-go, planning your meals is imperative. You don’t want to only end up eating lettuce or salads. Think about the foods that you enjoy and how you can make them raw.
Explore!
Raw food doesn’t mean produce to table. There are many ways you can prepare raw food: Juicing, blending, dehydrating, and soaking.
Don’t be hard on yourself and remember to eat!
